Bamboo Coffee Tables

My favourite!

A large gently curved culm of Moso, punching through the oiled and shaped recycled Rimu top.
A dynamic look with an easy knock down construction.

Soto Table

Coffee table, in recycled rimu, glass and woven bamboo strips. A simple but effective woven magazine shelf, which can be appreciated through the glass.

Dead exotic

Coffee table, in recycled Kwila, glass, moso and gold leaf.

Osiris

An interesting table with a faintly Egyptian air. I liked the idea of individual internodes punching through the timber.

Owners of Bambusero furniture know they have a unique, hand crafted, well finished piece. These are the main features:

  • It is custom made. Typically I go to the clients house and talk at length about what they need, measure up and later present them with a design.
  • Original designs. I try to come up with creative solutions which, I hope, are more sophisticated than the bamboo furniture you normally come across.
  • Construction methods which are sympathetic to the nature of the material.
  • Properly harvested and seasoned bamboo. This is very important for durability but ignored by many.
  • Rigorous selection process of the raw material. I use superior species of bamboo, sourced from various locations around New Zealand.
  • High level of finishing and attention to detail. You won't find any rough edges or splinters common to a lot of bamboo furniture.

Terai

As simple as they come. This table, dsigned as a wedding gift, is knock down for easy of transport. The simple lines show off the bamboo structure with the rimu top entering corresponding grooves in the bamboo sections.

Side Table

A dinky side table, using rough shaped glass (smooth edges), available in different sizes, and nested.

Moso and recycled Tasmanian Oak.

A very minimalist table, with clean lines.
